How can I deter myself and others from entertaining themselves with media against Jehovah's word?

Nowadays, a lot of the social media, contains forms of violence, fornication, sexual harassment, lasciviousness, murder, death, spiritual divination, homosexuality and other forms against Jehovah's word. Not too long ago my brother introduced me to the tv show called Claymore. He said it was a good show, and I watched the first episode. After I got through the first episode I stopped. I felt spiritually scarred for weeks. So, I needed some advice from Christian believers in how I can deter, or stop myself and others from even coming into the knowledge of these forms of evil. Any suggestions? Please post.
